New scientific studies have demonstrated that eating more tomatoes (or products that contain those), besides making you healthier, can lower the risk of osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease and even cancer.
This may happen because this vegetable is the biggest source of a powerful antioxidant called lycopene, that can resist cooking and processing. Besides this, tomatoes have other important nutrients with great functions, such as anti-inflammatory and antithrombotic.
